I have vast experience working in artist development in my previous roles as Studio Associate at the National Theatre, Associate Director at Leeds Playhouse and my longstanding involvement as Vice Chair of the JMK Trust.
At the NT Studio my role was to identify and nurture outstanding young theatre directors, many of whom have gone on to leading roles in the industry, including Ned Bennett, Tinuke Craig, Jude Christian, Rebecca Frecknall, Justin Audibert, Jeff James, Sam Pritchard, Rachel Bagshaw, Rikki Henry and Jay Miller. I also spent over 10 years on the board of the JMK Award, a Trust committed to training young theatre directors and for which I helped to design their pioneering National Programme. The JMK Trust has helped start the careers of major talents including Roy Alexander Weise, Kate Hewitt & Liz Stevenson and further back, Natalie Abrahami, Polly Findlay, Bijan Sheibani and Joe Hill-Gibbins. At Leeds Playhouse, as Associate Director, I led on the design of its vibrant artist development programme.
